Diane Mahalco: My name is Diane Mahalco. I am the supervisor of the medical section. The purpose of the medical examination is to ensure that the applicant is medically fit to enter the Military. After they checked in and processed, they headed down the hall for the medical session. They check. We do their blood pressure. We do their vision test. We do a hearing test. Then they are sent to a briefing to complete all the documents, make sure the Privacy Act statement is signed, the HIV form is signed. After that, they were given the commander’s brief, the medical section’s brief, and then they were sent back to the medical, where they took blood for HIV, and then they gave a urine sample for a drug screen. After that, they saw a doctor. Male and female exams are slightly different, basically the same as if you were to go to your family practice. Women’s exams include pregnancy tests. The females, you know, take a little more. Then the men, basically, men all in one room, women one by one.
What To Do If You Have Been Assaulted By Someone In The Military
Speaker 2: What you’re going to do now are some orthoneurological maneuvers. It looks like we’re testing your training abilities, but we’re really not. If anything we ask hurts you or makes you nauseous, short of breath, things like that, take a break. It doesn’t invalidate doing so, and we certainly don’t want you to leave here injured.
Diane Mahalco: If they’re disqualified for medical reasons, the Service can choose to give a waiver for that disqualification, and it usually is. The duck way, that’s what everyone remembers, you know. Prior service people come in, and they always, you know, tell applicants about the duck walk. My favorite part is seeing the applicants, when they say they’re qualified, you know, they’re so happy. They’re relieved, and you know, that just makes it all worth it.

Speaker 1: Good morning, everyone. I’m Sergeant First Class Ketcham. I’m an NCRC operator here at Boston MEPS. I want to talk very quickly about biometric registration. We do this in the morning when you check in, on your first visit at MEPS.

Yes, when they first come here at MEPS, we do biometric registration for all applicants. Basically, we’re going to take his fingerprints. We use their primary finger, which is usually their right hand. And we will also do a spare finger on their left hand. Then we are going to take that photo, which intakes 20 different points on their face. Once we enter it into the database, all they have to do is show up at the station, get a copy of their fingerprints and, you know, that identifies them. And it’s also a security measure because if someone tries to get in and it’s not the person, we use another finger that will tell us that too. So it will keep all applicants safe as well.
OK, when you’ve done that, you have to come see the folks in processing, okay? You have to be open and honestwith them when they sit there.
Speaker 2: You will see during your visit here at MEPS that the biometric process is the first step. We will also process your fingerprints, revealing any prior history you may have with law enforcement.
They are going to ask you about 14 questions. They are going to ask you about speeding tickets, involvement with the authorities. If you have an open or closed court case, whatever you need to tell them, you need to make sure it’s documented. OK? Is that understandable?

Speaker 2: Commitment to obey the orders of the president and the orders of the officers to whom they fall, and also abide by the Uniform Code of Military Justice. These are important concepts for them to understand, and they will be held to a higher standard than the people they went to high school with.
Success in any branch of the military depends on a good education. A high school diploma is most desirable. Candidates with a GED (General Educational Development) certificate can register, but some Services may limit their opportunities. It is very difficult to be considered a serious candidate without a high school diploma or an acceptable alternative credential.
