What Color Shoes To Wear With Red Dresses In 2021: The Very Best Picks!

The color red certainly has some popularity – and no matter how much a person loves this color, it doesn’t always have a positive connotation. Red can be associated with being sexy, slender, fierce, devilish, even dangerous. It also attracts attention. All of these are not great qualities to describe ideal wedding guest attire, where one of the cardinal (sorry, that was an almost inevitable pun) rules is not to draw attention to yourself or overpower your partner. We’ve heard that in some areas of the southern US, wearing red to a wedding is still considered bad.

However, red can also be classic, conservative, dignified (think of how many first ladies wear that color!), it’s cheerful, chic, romantic, passionate and happy! These are great terms to describe the perfect wedding outfit! You can see Enigma.

I had a few guests wear red to my wedding, and I thought it was amazing! There was also a red strapless dress that looked like it might have been too much, but I remember it because it was beautiful and I thought it was a pretty bright spot of color for the day! However, some couples and cultures may think of red as a “look at me” color, so it’s easy to see the unintended expression of the user trying to distract their partner.

So, wearing a red dress to a wedding is a matter of good judgment. If you feel that the couple or their family might be offended by a red dress, choose a different color. Otherwise, a good red wedding guest dress, in my opinion, should be classic and conservative to complement the vibrant color. It is also advisable to wear a color that deviates slightly from crimson red. For example, a rose-red raspberry, a deep burgundy, or a crimson red are great choices. If you’re wearing classic deep red, make sure the dress is tasteful; that it suits you well, that it’s not too short or revealing, and that it suits the event, not just you.

For a church wedding, you may want to use even more reservations. Make sure your shoulders are covered with sleeves or a wrap, and make sure your red dress is tasteful. For an evening wedding or cocktail hour wedding reception, the fabric and cut is a little more showy, but still make sure it’s tasteful. For a black tie wedding, the dress should be long and elegant, so be aware of red’s attention-grabbing abilities. A deep wine color or a muted red would be my preference here, as dark neutral tones are the preferred dress code for a black tie wedding.
